class was somewhat interesting on Friday. I had no prior knowledge of what had happened in Arizona, so it was pretty interesting to hear everything going on. I think the fact that the law was passed was crazy due to the fact the police have better things to do. The police should be out attending to crimes but now they have to harass people about their citizenship, although i think some police will enjoy such assignment. I think it will soon be a problem the minority will not roll over easily citizen or not this will blow up in the governments face.

class

so class was somewhat interesting i guess. First off i did the wrong read and critique so i was kind of lost when everyone was talking just good thing i ddnt raise my hand to comment. But seriously now that ive read the correct paper i guess i can comment. well the topic was at first of no interest to me but as i read it really made me want to know what political party people of Asian decent really side with, i mean i never really thought about. But it makes since that the wealther a group is the more involved or the more a person stays in tone with politics whether it be in this country or a persons homeland the more involved they will be. So overall the paper did get better and i would be interested in further research on this topic.

Sooooo class was EXTRA interesting on Friday. Some topic was discussed the week before and someone didn't like what was said and it was addressed in class on Friday. The topic was the "N" word some guy in the back tried to say the word should only be used among blacks and that we don't say N-I-G-G-E-R we say N-I-G-G-A he tried to justify it by saying blacks use it to embrace one another and etc. But come lets be for real if he were to meet or be around a older black person whether it be male or female he wouldn't use the word they don't stand for all that "trash" talk and that's out of respect. The word goes deeper for a older person so you just know when and when not to use it.

class topic friday 26

The assignment due friday was very interesting i must say i usually skim through the readings but this one really caught my attention, although the speaker was about to put me to sleep. But anyway the topic was about a group of students at UT that threw a ghetto fab party and posted pics, then the Dean did not punish the kids at all. After reading the article it made me really think what view point the Dean held about racism because not once did he mention how racist the students came across but rather how it would effect their careers if the information were to get out. Basically it had me "hotter than fish grease." What about the more important stuff like how did it make the non white students feel and what if it happens again is it going to be solved with a letter or will he finally make an example out of those students. I don't know its makes you think what makes a person racist or think its okay to mock another culture or how they think a culture acts and dresses. It made me think back to a couple of weeks ago when i was sitting with my kids at snack and they were referring to themselves as "sprite" and "coca cola" because of their skin color, i just could not believe it, i had nothing to say, but my question was where did you learn that? It just amazes me what people will tell kids because if anyone has kids or been around kids you know that they will tell you everything that they know, think, or have heard. I just want to know what makes people think they can be racist towards others not saying that I'm perfect but i don't mock anyone Else's culture, skin color, or heritage.

okay so i've had it up to my neck with this whole snow thing. i couldnt attend class yesterday because of it and i was late to work 2day because i couldnt even drive down my street, if it wasnt for my bbf i would hve called out and check would hve been short. But to more important stuff this political science course is really not wht im use to. i've never had to base my grade off how much i talk in class and its not far really cause i dnt like to talk n front of the class i can voice my opinion in a group but dnt like talkn to a big group i talk fast and they cnt keep up it sounds crazy but thts just me. thn the teacher doesnt like the fact tht i email like i txt (shorthand) if u hadnt noticed. just cnt wait to get into this radiology program at grady or dekalb medical so ready to finish and do wht i love.

first day of class

this blog is for my political science course. The first day in class was somewhat interesting i really thought it would be boring and me counting down the minutes but the time actually flew by. The class debated about the stuff happening in haiti. which is sad and even though i ddnt voice my opinion n class i agree with one guy in the back that stated, its easier for america to just help then to take lead thats why they always rush to help aide other countries n trouble. Because whn something happens here in america it seems like the govenment takes forever to just take the first step. Its truly sad tht no one wnts to stand up and take leadership because fear of failure and then if things go wrong they the fear of being blamed. Its sad.....
